#12: Amageryon's Touch

Invented by: Solebarr Syntaritov
Type: Entertainment
Complexity: Medium-high (C5)
We use it for: party tricks, bribing mortals, creative problem-solving

Appearance: dark maroon with silver flakes in it; viscosity of maple syrup.

Taste: metallic and earthy, like iron shavings mixed with garden mulch.

Effect: grants the consumant Amageryon's Touch, which transmutes any dead or inorganic object they touch into a precious metal or a precious gem (the object is permanently transmuted, though the metal or gem it is turned into is random). The size of the object transmuted is proportionate to the amount of the draught that the individual has consumed; objects larger than a medium-sized dog require the consumption of half a bottle or more. Transmuting objects the size of an adult human or larger requires the consumption of a bottle or more.

Notes

  • I can't believe he created a draught to mock that sorry man that he cursed. At least this version is tuned down a little; it only transmutes non-living things. Poor Amageryon killed his wife on accident because he turned everything he touched into precious minerals. -Miqo
  • I did not 'curse' him. Amageryon coveted wealth above all else, and I granted his wish. I would say he learned his lesson, but he really didn't - even after his wife died, his greed was stronger than his grief. The town had him hung when they found out he melted down his wife and sold the metal to pay off his debts. -Solebarr
