Can I suggest that this limitation be clearly noted on the Sage features page?
The way the site is currently worded makes these features appear to be part of the same package, which is why I bought Sage in the first place. I wanted to build a branded site experience, but that is not actually possible if custom domains do not support login or access-controlled content.
As written, the Sage features are misleading. They imply that custom domains, white labelling, password-protected articles, subscribers, and access codes function together as one package, when they apparently do not.
That needs to be stated clearly before purchase, because it materially affects the value of the subscription.
For reference, this is the Sage feature list on your website, one would assume reading this they all work together.
Which are my sage exclusive features?
White labeling: the ability to strip most of World Anvil's branding
Password-protected articles
Custom URL slug for your world and your articles
Google Analytics integration
Custom world domain name
SEO settings for your world
Increased storage limit for images (15 GB)
Increased amount of subscribers (1000)
Subscriber email importing and access codes
Increased amount of coauthors (20)
I also want to point out that the membership/subscription page makes this expectation even stronger.
It lists Sage as including “White Labeled Worlds”, described as “a professional, branded world presentation with white labeling”, followed immediately by “Custom Domain”, “Mass-access Management” for “readers, players and customers”, and “Advanced Access Sharing” for granting access to customers with password-protected articles and access codes.
That wording strongly implies a professional branded world experience where readers/customers can access protected material through the custom domain.
If custom domains cannot support login or access-controlled content, then this limitation needs to be stated clearly on that page as well, because the current wording makes the Sage package sound like these features function together.
I apologise if I sound annoyed. This has put a real spanner in the works for me, as I upgraded specifically because I believed these Sage features would support a branded site experience.
