So I've finally decided to share something I've been working on for over a year now. I started writing this novel ages ago but put it aside, and now that I've built out so much more of my world (Eluvemar), I've gone back to do a proper re-edit. Fingers crossed someone here enjoys it!

Welcome to Week 7 of the Saga!

Raven & Quill Issue #7: The Inkwell is live alongside Chapter 5: A Key of Scars. We return to Qianna to peel back the layers of her past.

But the real story this week is about the deep rabbit hole of cartography.

I confess: the map nerd in me took over. I realized the current satellite imagery for Vespria wasn't enough to satisfy the vision. So, instead of just writing, I spent the week rebuilding the Vesprian realms from the ground up in Photoshop to prepare for a massive InDesign overhaul.

Inside Issue #7:

• The Art of the "Sat-Map": A look at the work-in-progress standard for the new maps.
• A Jewel Thief in the Night: A warning that the current maps on the site are living on borrowed time. Soon, they will be swapped out silently, with precision.

Hello everybody!

I'm not feeling the best due to being under the weather, but I did want to post another drawing of mine despite that. For this post, I decided to do something of a "blast from the past" type. This is one of my many original characters that I created many years ago. I was transitioning from high school to attending a community college when I drew this. I wanted to experiment with doing a full body drawing. This oc will appear in my world of Arktoria at some point, although there will be major changes to his overall design.

I've added a third ongoing story to my Augmented Valor world. I posted the first chapter. The new series is about a Latvian woman on an early cryostasis ark colony ship. She wakes up from cryo-sleep on a Mars Federation Navy Search and Rescue ship nearly 500 years later.

I thank all of you who had read/are reading I know it’s been a minute, and I want to thank you all greatly for your patience! My attention was scattered across a lot on the back end: timeline, story structure, meta, amending articles, and making new maps with markers, on top of writing. I have a lot more to add, so bear with me!

I’ll be changing up the Aeon Homepage soon and adding more of the world, so don’t be surprised if things look a little different. Also, I am going to try to provide more updates more frequently in the coming months, via Bluesky!!

Geddeon continues his duties as General and Prince, until a change in schedule pulls him and Fitzgerald into a sparring session. Neither are thrilled, but with their distain for each other growing daily, neither refuses to hold back.

Red Dragons Tong

I've been busily adding my cyberpunk noir science fiction world here on WA. The Red Dragons are the largest criminal syndicate on Chendiuria. Aditi "Adi" Nizhóní Peshlakai , my former Colonial Fleet Marine Myrmidon MC, has delt with the Red Dragons in the past.

I'm looking forward to WorldEmber 2025 and plan to focus on geography. I've got quite a list of articles I want to write.

I'm doing really well with NovelEmber. I am currently at 31,742 words, and I am contemplating perhaps increasing the challenge to 100k words if I can figure out how to do that on PWA.

For the foreseeable future, I am posting a chapter each Sunday. I am alternating between two stories set in my Augmented Valor world. One story features Adi and Shadows of Eros; the other story takes place about 70 years before Adi's time.

This one is actually an older sketch that I did one day while I was on lunch break at work. I was kinda bored so I grabbed a small sketchpad I owned and drew this quick sketch. I drew this in the vibe of 90s anime style, in particular the style used in OVAs such as Ninja Scroll, Cyber City Cedo, and Goku Midnight Eye.

I didn't write anything for Spooktober. I am participating in NovNov, even though I have no intent at the moment to publish a book. My writing is not exactly setting the world on fire, but writing keeps me entertained. I started writing again, after a nearly 20 year break, at the suggestion of my VA therapist for post-service PTSD therapy.

I am loving the new writing prompts. Below is one of the first entries I wrote at a WA prompt.

I hope everyone is doing well, enjoying that Fall weather, and staying hydrated!! As usual, I would like to give my many thanks to everyone that is reading/has read All Hallows Queen; I appreciate each and every one of you, each and every day of writing! This post is going to be long, but not corny, so prepare yourself.

No Chapters this evening. I’m diligently working on the next chapters and my plan is to be able to line up the story with the actual calendar year. (The official Story of All Hallows Queen starts on the 1st of Novembris, so if you know, you know.)

Firstly, I DIDN’T KNOW THAT I NEEDED TO ADD A FOLLOW BUTTON TO THE WORLD JUST TO TALK TO YOU ALL. I feel dumb for that and should’ve been paying more attention to learning WA.

I have been working on the map of New Temperantia for the last year, with minuscule knowledge on how to even make one (Shoutout to MapEffects. Not sponsored but damn, it helped soooo much!!) It is also public to view in the world, but please excuse the map markers. I made them from scratch and I’m trying to shrink them down without losing definition. Bear with me, I’m always learning something new. (I would suggest zooming in to see true placements). Information will be filled in as the story goes.

This story is ONLY posted on World Anvil and Royal Road, but I am considering sharing this to a 3rd site. I’m still doing my research on where, but if anyone has suggestions, by all means, share your thoughts. (SquareSpace has been pitched to me on every YT video I watch, so that may also be a thing…)

I'm moving to World Anvil from Fictionary as the world building options here are significantly better, and it's a little cheaper each month.

My super augmented former Colonial Fleet Marine, Adi, and her story are still a work in progress.

Last month we were consumed with Kickstarter business. It has been refreshing to get back to some creative work. We love #Spooktober and wanted to participate as much as we could.

This month we’re stepping headfirst into something dark and cursed: the Graven Rings.

Thirteen rings, all cursed. Together they form a collection tied to an ancient story of power, betrayal, and consequence. Every ring carries a history, a fragment of its maker’s sin, and a new way to ruin the life of whoever dares to claim it. Throughout the rest of October, we’ll be writing several of these and the tales connected to them.

For today, we’re starting with two, Drown and Watchful:

• Drowned Man's Halo

The Drowned Man’s Halo, a sailor’s salvation turned suffocating doom.

• Daydream Catcher

The Daydream Catcher, a spider-webbed charm that turns rest into a waking nightmare.

Spooktober Badge Acquired!

We're a week into Spooktober, and I have been soaring through my first 13 prompts by writing stub articles on pretty flowers, each one referencing a friend on World Anvil! I will always take any chance I can to reference the wonderful people on this site, in my own writing, I think it's a really fun thing to do.

Aside from these pretty flowers, I've written two full articles, one on mirehorns, apex predator buffalos, and Nalmaria, a spider-infested planet! I've also written a little prose snippet, There's No Hope, because I'm in dire need of more practice writing prose!

Lots more to come while Spooktober is running, I've plenty of exciting, spooky ideas, and I can't wait to make some awesome things for people to check out!

Dragonguard Progress Report (DPR-14)

I'm disappointed that the Aliens lost in the Worldbuilding Showdown challenge at the beginning of September. I wasn't sure what to write about for the Legends of the Dragonguard world, but it just so happened that I started a new world that week!

That’s right! I’ve got a new world! It’s a dystopian cyberfantasy hellscape world that features unique things, such as the Bitwise Shifters that I wrote for the Elves vs. Aliens challenge.

I was messing around in my test world one night, thinking about redesigning the Dragonguard homepage. I renamed the world to something that was more fun than “Null Test” and gave it the name /dev/null. I like computer-related things and find the concept of null interesting. (if my username wasn’t obvious enough)

/dev/null, also called Null Device, is a device file that discards all data written to it but reports that the write operation succeeded. I had ideas come to mind when I renamed the world, and, with a little CSS later, I now have a rough foundation for my world!

Now these posts are labeled as Dragonguard Progress Reports, so I may or may not log worldbuilding updates from the other world in here. I haven’t decided. However, that world does have its own changelog, though I did it a little differently than LotD. I used a discussion board, so you guys can comment on each “version”!

In Dragonguard news, my storyteller friends have given me feedback on my world. So, things have updated, such as the menubar on the side. I removed the repeating menu item with the same name as the spoiler button and grouped some items together.

Also, I’ve received my Blue Mission from Blue Fairy 74, so I’ll be revising some out-of-date articles in each of the main categories over the next year. :)

Oh, and now that I have more than one world, I’ve also created a hub world! I’ve decided to also put all WA event stuff on this world, so it will no longer be on the Legends of the Dragonguard world. I’ve also decided to move my “Community Highlight” to this world, too, in addition to most technical stuff I had on the LotD world, and archived things.

Right now, I’ve got my Spooktober 2025 article up! :)

This story is coming straight off the dome, so I appreciate every view. Although, you guys scare me with how quick you read, but I bet you all go through whole books a day.

Synopsis: After Nyxis and Bast defeat the creature in the Valkyrie Forest, the Elves return to Chakram where the Commander learns about the ever-present concern past diplomacy: The Void and the things it creates.

Something new from me! After the Elves vs. Aliens showdown, I was reading the Discord chat, and Team Alien—specifically Demon Grey—was talking about using aliens for creativity. While I don’t yet have a full sci-fi or alien world, I wanted to explore a specific lens for the story; sometimes that sparks an idea.

I’ve put together a short outline, and here’s my first installment of Starlit Observations! It will be a duet-style tale, following Ven Solari, a Zephri observer, as he begins watching a human woman, Subject 7.3.9.2343—someone he calls Wildflower. What starts as a mission of observation soon becomes something far more personal.

Creative experiments make me happy, and who knows—maybe this will help me fully develop that other sci-fi setting I’ve been dreaming about. I hope you enjoy seeing where this story goes!

Summer Camp has wrapped up, and I’m still buzzing with excitement! This year, my world of Crux Umbra was honored with three article category awards and the Community Award for Most Inspiring World - a truly unforgettable recognition.

While winning is amazing, what really made this experience special were the people who shared it with me.

I want to give a heartfelt thank you to:

• Tyrdal, my accountability buddy, who kept me on track and made sure I didn’t lose momentum.
• Keon, who cheered my world more than anyone else and lifted my spirits with extra motivation when I needed it most.
• Mochi, who is just as wonderfully chaotic and crazy as I am! Finding a kindred spirit in you has made my time here in WA even more fun.

A big thank you to the whole World Anvil community. Your support, ideas, and enthusiasm are what make this platform so magical. Summer Camp, and really any challenge, wouldn’t be the same without all of you.

The Cherry on Top

After earning a hard fought silver badge for Summer Camp this year, I was prepared to be content with that. With only sixteen articles, I wasn't sure the odds were in my favor for snagging an award, too. Luckily, I was wrong, and one of my more polished entries was chosen as winner in its category.

Answering the prompt "a ritual that has changed meaning over time," it delves into the popular Poliran holiday, Gloaming. Set on an intercalary day that doesn't seem to fit anywhere, Gloaming is a fun-filled celebration centered on liminality which stands everything on its head for a little bit .

Summer Camp is officially OVER!

Massive congratulations to all of the winners this Summer Camp! Tough competition this year. It was so nice to see such a variety in unique authors winning, but props to Imagica, for winning three prompts and Most Inspiring World, with Crux Umbra!

I'm super happy to have won a prompt, myself! My Magical Surge article brought me a win this year, and I'm very proud of that. Unfortunately this wasn't one of my better years in Summer Camp, I'm not feeling overly proud of my work as a whole.

The rules I initially set for myself at the beginning of the event pushed me to my limits, causing me to struggle just one week into the competition. That led me to basically flop about the rest of July and August, struggling to write anything truly meaningful. Next year I'm going to go back to what I do best, which is writing shorter, concise articles. I've been told I write short articles well, which reassures me!

And now we have a fun new challenge to look forward to! Elves VS Aliens? I'm Team Aliens, which one are you?

Well folks, it’s finally ready! It took me a while, but I managed to finish my reading challenge article just before the deadline. Cheers!
I tried to read as many submissions as I could from the hundreds of wonderful creators on this platform. It was a fun experience, though the time limit did stress me out a bit. I’m hoping to set aside more time over the next few weeks to enjoy even more of your stories.

Completed my reading challenge and doubled it, because there were too many good articles for me to limit myself at 10. Even at 20 it was a struggle lol. I also explained my plans for the rest of the year for Chronicles of Hysal, but also for the new setting that i'm cooking up!

You know the reading challenge is great for those. It gives you a chance to mentally rest, get those imagination muscles a chance to recover so you can dive back in!

Hello wonderful people.

I know I am late, but I 've finally managed to compile an article with all of my entries for Summer Camp 2025.

I am furiously working on my list for the reading challenge as well!

Hope to finish it before the deadline. There are so many submissions and I am trying my best to read as many as I can.
