Name: William "Bloody Bill" Anderson
Nomenclature: LV09-07
History: The portion of William T. Anderson's life that is of interest to Task Force 08 begins in March 1864, when he was a lieutenant partisan ranger under William Quantrill. The details are sparse, but the official history is incorrect.
Officially, Quantrill and Anderson had a falling out when one of Anderson's men was shot for thievery by Quantrill's. This resulted in Anderson removing his loyalists from Quantrill's party and reporting him for murder to local Confederate authorities.
What we know of the truth is that Anderson murdered his own man for unknown reasons. He and his raiders then ate the corpse, a taboo that they would repeat many times. The Task Force has not reached a consensus on the exact motive for the act, but the result was unquestionable. The concentration of LVsc prions infected Anderson's men with Lycanthropus Veritas, and their escalating atrocities follow the same statistical curve observed in most outbreaks of the disease.
Of his entire party, Anderson appears to have received the most extreme case, which would eventually facilitate his full transformation into N#:LV09-07. After the murder and cannibalism of around 50 victims, Anderson began singling out his own men and eating them, further concentrating the LVsc prions inside of his own body. In this way, he went from 150 men to 20 when Lieutenant Colonel Samuel P. Cox ambushed Anderson's warband in October 26, 1864. The intensity of their fire drove the raiders away, and only the two most heavily infected members participated in the final charge. Anderson was shot in the head and was presumed dead.
His 'corpse' was paraded in public, mutilated, and subsequently buried. The night he was buried he was exhumed by his surviving men, and his wounds had sufficiently healed to allow them to slip away. For several years after, they roamed the length of North America and attempted to develop a territorial hunting ground. Anderson developed an initiation ritual wherein once a recruit was sufficiently infected, he would shoot them in the head and bury their unconscious body prior to their first transformation so that they could dig their way out.
Whether it is the placement of this injury or something peculiar about the specific strain of LVsc prions involved, Anderson's group has better control and a clearer memory of their deeds when transformed. Others theorize that the initiation ritual was established in order to make it more difficult to identify Anderson from his men.
Anderson himself was permanently neutralized by N#:MG-01 on August 24th, 1944.
