Foreword
I have written stories since I was four years old and was enchanted by my grandmother's typewriter. I remember my first story well. It was about a cat and his friends who went on an adventure to a remote island. For the life of me, I can't recall how it ended. Hazards of a child's attention span.
Despite that being 30 years ago, I never really considered publishing. The very thought scared me. Who'd read something I wrote? Why would anyone be interested in the thoughts and visions I have in my brain? Why this? Why that? And for 30 years, I believed those thoughts. Now I ask myself - why not? Why not publish? If not through a publishing house or an agent, why not myself? So here goes. My first ever book, in your hands. Filled with years of untold stories.
Sometimes ideas come from a passing remark on the street. Sometimes it comes from a line that never stops resonating. Sometimes these ideas grow to become something greater. And now I am so very excited to share these with you. You may not like all of it. Nothing of it is perfect. That's ok. I hope you can find a line in here that resonates with you. An idea that makes your imagination run wild. I hope you find a pause within these pages.
