Magical barrier appears

A magical barrier is discovered that now isolates Shylo from the other two continents. It is first discovered by a failed expedition from Shylo to Nothep.

The expedition failed when the crew of boat crashed into the barrier and eventually made it back to shore. The official origins are the barrier are unknown, but it's speculated that the pacifist faction from the War of Splintering had something to do with it. The barrier was later discovered to surround the continent from all sides, isolating Shylo. This event effectively renamed the Western Sea to the "Barrier Sea."   Several attempts were made to cross it again over the years - and every so often a new and ambitious crew makes an attempt to get through by various means and places. All attempts thus far have failed.
