The area looks like a shallow pool of\r\nwater at first glance, and any creature that was not aware of\r\nthe spell being cast must make an Intelligence (Investigation)\r\nor Wisdom (Perception) check against your spell DC to\r\nbelieve otherwise before contact is made with the pool.\r\n\r\nA creature entering the pool for the first time on a turn or\r\nstarting its turn there must make a Dexterity saving throw,\r\ntaking 4d6 acid damage on a failed save and sinking into the\r\npool, as the grappled condition. On a successful save, the\r\ncreature takes half as much acid damage and is not grappled.\r\nA grappled creature can use its action to make a Strength\r\n(Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check (its choice) against\r\nyour spell save DC. On a success, it frees itself. A creature of\r\nsize Large or smaller that fails the saving throw while already\r\ngrappled by the pool is also restrained against your spell save\r\nDC.\r\n\r\nA restrained creature can't breathe, and any non-magical\r\nmetal objects it carries begin to corrode. When the restrained\r\ncreature takes acid damage from the pool, non-magical metal\r\nweapons and armor take a permanent, cumulative -1 penalty\r\nto their damage rolls and AC, respectively. If this penalty on a\r\nweapon reaches -5, the weapon is destroyed; similarly, armor\r\nis destroyed if its AC is reduced to 10.
